Oil Paintings And Sculptures
For the Love of Art! I skipped school to hang out in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, galleries, Washington Square Park in New York. My father taught me to make my own oil colors with pigments from France. He also taught me to "build a painting in browns and whites as did the Masters. James Avati (illustrator} and Paul Lehr (fine artist) were my teachers at the age of sixteen, in Red Bank, New Jersey. I am a member and had an artist's studio at S.I.C.A. a contemporary art gallery and cafe with music , films offered in Long branch New Jersey-a non-profit organization.
I don't use projectors or scale down a new work...but merely struggle to get what I want out of the subject. It's like a "birth" every time ! It is a continuous learning process, and I call for all of the spirits of past artists as well as the living to guide me in this quest.
